The “eyes and ears” of the U.S. Navy. The Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is an American all-weather, carrier-based tactical Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft. It’s a twin turboprop aircraft, designed and developed in the 1950s by Grumman for the United States Navy as a replacement for the E-1 Tracer. The model has two markings, U.S. Navy VAW-117 CAG NH600 and U.S. Navy VAW-125 CAG AG600.
